Puss in Boots 3D
After a number of 'Shrek' films (we've honestly lost count at this stage), one of the best things about the last few installments is back in his own film.
Lothario Puss in Boots is here to save the day, in 3D and with an assortment of cat-based puns.
A prequel, telling the story of cat-burglar Puss before he met Shrek and Donkey. As ever, there is something instantly adorable about a cat-shaped ball of fur, even in 3D computer graphic form. They go full tilt with this film with an extended sequence of Puss as a kitten being left at an orphanage. Never have I heard a cinema full of people uniformly murmur “Awwww”.
The story is merely functional however, proving why Dreamworks still can't match the consistency of rival Pixar. Too many in-jokes and pop-culture references without enough time on the script itself.
